Alumni Meet 2007

JNV Pacharhi, Darbhanga

Objective

Overall Development:

1. Guidance for extracurricular activities and their importance in life

2. Presenting a proposal for achieving that goal

3. Formation of various clubs mentored by teachers and alumni

Minutes of the Meet

Day 1 27/12/2007

1.00pm Arrival of alumni in school

1.00-3.00pm Lunch and informal interaction with students

3.00-4.00pm Volleyball match between alumni and students was played. Students played very nice but they lost by 2:1 to alumni.

4.00-7.00pm Alumni addressed students for utility of Navodaya life in future. Stress was given to make students aware about the competitive outer world. Importance of cultural programs and extracurricular activities in life was told with priority to academics. Vision for outstanding performance in country was shown to students strongly. In between, cultural programs by students were performed. Drama played by class V1 students with guidance of one senior girl was amazing. Kavvali, Rajasthan dance and all others are performed with excellence. Many programs was cancelled due to cold. Remarkably they all get prepared within two hours after information for programs in the absence of music teacher (he was ill). Shanta Kumar involved alumni and students in some game of fun that can be played on the stage. All students laughed and enjoyed a lot.

7.00-8.00pm A formal meeting with teachers took place. We put our proposals to the teachers. Each and every points was discussed to come up some realistic and possible final proposal to followed further for better and overall development of the students. Interest of teachers was also considered in the proposal.

8.00-9.00pm Dinner

9.00pm Alumni went hostels to interact with students stressing over importance

of cultural activities and discipline.

Day 2 28/12/2007

9.00-9.15am Morning Assembly

9.15-12.01pm Group of two or three alumni went in classes and talked about cultural activities. A culture of club for development of different field was presented to students. Possible activities were also told. Students also thought about other creativities, that can be done for progress of club. Then students were encouraged to be part of club and carry some responsibility. Almost all students became part of some clubs.

12.0-1.00pm Conclusive meeting with teachers was done where all shown hope and determination for development.

1.00-2.00pm Lunch

2.30pm Departure from the school

Proposal For betterment:

1. Student should be punished for misbehaviors and in disciplinary activities. If needed they should be sent to home with proper understanding with guardians. Along with punishment, teachers should develop emotional attachment with students.

2. Morning P.T. should be compulsory for all ( 10and 12th class should be spared after pre board)

3. Cleaning inspection on each Sunday evening.

4. 2nd Monday of each month- Academic program involving quiz, speech, debate, etc.

5. Last Monday of each Month – Musical/cultural program

6. Assembly duty should be allocated by class teachers on roll call basis without separating boys and girls.

7. Surprise supervision

8. Roll call at night in the hostel before night prayer

9. Second and last Saturday of month as Movie day (only one movie should be shown)

10. News channel should be open during dinner with half an hour tolerance, strictly news channel and other channel should not be tried

11. Evening assembly should be combined

12. There should be healthy sport culture

13. Responsibility of each club should be in hand of few teachers and alumni also will be associated with clubs to know what activities are going on.

14. Individual assessment of each student should be done. Weakness and strength should be told to students. Student must be told that they are going in wrong direction and so be checked. In the similar way good students should always be encouraged.
